For as long as I can remember, there were two chairs on the porch of the house on the hill. For the first seven years of my life, that house was my home. Pencils, paper, headaches, homework. Joe and I were sitting there, my pencil writing furiously along the paper, trying to complete the homework I wished I didn't have. Our mom always went easy on us when we were on tour, making sure not to give us too much and stress us out, but now that we were home and not as busy, she felt it was time to catch up. I felt overwhelmed, swamped, in over my head, stressed, whatever you wanted to call it. I looked up for a split second to find that Joe could concentrate really well… on anything but the homework in front of him.
